Welcome to California – Beautiful Flowers and High Gas Prices

This was my welcome to California this trip.  I realize prices along the interstate are probably higher since you don’t have many options, but…  The price is usually about .40 cents a gallon more than in the Phoenix area.  This trip, $1.00 more per gallon.  Good thing I was on the motorcycle!

I took my mother to see the Carlsbad Flower Fields.  Here’s a few photos.

The last photo looks like an American flag when viewed from above.

  1. We pay between $5.40 & $6.50 a gallon depening on where we are in the “cycle”. Of that about $1.50 is govt excise. Still its cheaper than New Zealand :-/

    • I guess these prices look good to you then. It sure is high for us though. Thanks for taking the time to read my motorcycle blog. Ride safe.

  2. Looks like a beautiful place. As for the gas prices, they look good to me as well. We’re used to paying the equivalent of $5.40-ish per gallon. Most people don’t seem to care though, the pick-up truck is still king. Seems like you’re having great weather, send some up this way will ya? 😉
