A California Historical Monument, Desert View Tower in Jacumba Hot Springs, CA. I’ve ridden past this tower countless times over the years. I never knew what it was until now. I didn’t take the time to go inside (only a $3 fee). I was running late an needed to get back home. Maybe next time.

Another stop on my motorcycle trip, The historic Navajo Bridge. It’s located on Highway 89A near Lee’s Ferry, between Bitter Springs and Jacob lake, AZ. It was built in 1929 and was replaced by a new bridge in 1993 for safety reasons. There’s a parking area next to the old bridge where Navajo people were selling jewelry and other items. I walked out on the bridge and was able to see a few people on rafts drifting down the Colorado River.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
I was delighted to discover this historic bridge on my motorcycle ride. Of course I had to stop and take some pictures!
This bridge was the longest suspension bridge in Utah until April 2008 when it was destroyed by a fire started by a child playing with matches.
