Just putting a face to this motorcycle blog!

I usually ride alone on my motorcycle trips, so I don’t have many photos of myself.  Here’s one from my last ride out in Southern California.  I was on a ride along the Pacific Coast Highway.  This photo was taken in a cafe in Morro Bay, CA.

Harley-Davidson Vehicle Operations Plant. York, PA

I was in Pennsylvania last weekend and was able to visit to Harley-Davidson’s Vehicle Operations Plant.  Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get to the plant before the last tour on Friday, and no tours on the weekend, so I had to miss it this trip. The last time I was in PA I took the tour which began with a short movie before continuing on to the factory floor . It was an interesting walking tour where they allowed visitors to walk around on a guided tour following the assembly line and watch Harley-Davidson motorcycles being assembled.  The few photos I was able to take are inside near the gift shop and of course the H-D signs.

Quote From the Harley-Davidson website:

Established as an assembly facility in 1973, Harley-Davidson Vehicle Operations in York, PA. assembles the Touring, Softail and Trike models, as well as limited production, factory-custom motorcycles. They perform a variety of manufacturing operations – making parts like fuel tanks, frames and fenders.

At the Vaughn L. Beals Tour Center, you’ll explore exhibits that detail the plant’s history, and guide you through the manufacturing and assembly processes. You’ll also have the chance to sit on current production motorcycles and visit the gift shop for tour-related souvenirs. The Kids’ Rally, a specially designed area for visitors under the age of 12, makes the York facility an ideal family destination.

Your factory tour begins with an introductory movie and continues on the factory floor where you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at the people, processes and products of York Vehicle Operations. You’ll be guided through the assembly of Touring and Trike motorcycles. Then it’s on to the end of the line, where every motorcycle is roll-tested prior to shipping.

Over the years, thousands of Harley-Davidson enthusiasts have made the journey to York, Pennsylvania to witness passion forged in steel.
